The Derwent Valley Car Club have three vehicles stationed in our area; Blackhill, Shotley Bridge and Medomsley

The club provides an environmentally friendly electric car that you can use as often as you like.

Membership is £5 pounds per month and any hire charges are discounted against your membership fees. It looks a good way to trial drive an EV or just a sensible and cost effective way of accessing a car for the occasional user.

Car bookings are on a first-come first-served basis, but experience in other Car Clubs shows that there is little problem with availability.  There is also  a voluntary driver scheme, to help those who cannot drive themselves  to make that hospital or other medical appointment.
